The Defensive Handgun Series
“Victorious warriors win first, then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win.”
-Sun Tzu
We believe in tough, simple, and realistic training.
I want to make something very clear: Ronin Tactical Solutions is NOT training you to get better at the range. We are training you for real life.
This means for the Defensive Handgun Course we want you to “come as you are”, not looking like a weekend warrior; wearing gear and packing firearms you’d never dream of concealing in your everyday life. To make this point simple: Lets train with the firearm (and wearing the clothes) that you would actually have on you in a crisis. Training like this may result in changes in your wardrobe and in your ideas what it means to carry a firearm. Let’s work together to figure out what works best FOR YOU.
Do not bring brand new or unused gear.
The Defensive Handgun Road Map
-
DH1: Weapons Manipulation
Everyone wants to be fast. But speed born of simply “moving faster” is sloppy, while speed born of efficiency is a step towards mastery. This class is all about efficiency and consistency, both of which will serve you well in a real-world defensive shooting situation.

DH2: Shooting from the holster
Not many people practice shooting a simulated threat with the starting position being a holster, let alone from concealment.
Shooting from concealment has a host of challenges, but if we want to train realistically, we need to find them and over-come them. If you were to use a firearm to defend yourself and your family, its likely coming from concealment.
Class Goal: Students learn how to draw from the holster and engage a threat through a set of simple yet challenging drills.
Class Length: 4 hours
Class Cost: $125

DH3: Shooting on the move
When most people shoot on a range, it’s in an environment that doesn’t reflect the reality of the street, home, office building or any other location we spend the rest of our time at. In the real world, their will be barriers and likely a need for us to move. In Defensive Handgun 3, we offer you the training opportunity to learn these skills in a controlled, safe environment while braking out of the 1 denominational range mindset.
Class Goal: Students learn how to shoot on the move, how to utilize cover, and how to fire around it.
Class Length: 4 hours
Class Cost: $150

DH4: Low Light Engagement
If you ask the average person who is shopping for a new gun, you will often hear “I just want something I can protect my family with”.
The problem is practice at the gun range is a far cry from what clearing your house in dark is like. In Defensive Handgun 4, we will teach you Low Light Engagement techniques and eventually have you shooting in the dark with your carry gun and tactical hand-held light.
Class Goal: Students learn how to shoot in a low light environment while utilizing cover and moment.
